About Us

Chartered on 26th June 2013, RCCSCT has entered it’s 9th year, a community based club, where the members are the residents of South City Residency. Over the years Club has served the community in large in various avenues, with some ongoing projects as well, and the details are as follows. We have at present 29 members.

Community Service – Medical

Medical Camps, Eye camps, Polio Vaccination camps, are part of our regular community service projects.

We have conducted over 40 medical & eye camps free of cost benefitting over 8000 people in the areas of General Health, Eye, Dental, Blood Grouping, ECG, Blood Testing, homeopathy etc., In these camps spectacles were given, required eye surgeries were performed.

 

COVID 19 - In the past 2 years we have conducted Covid awareness seminars, distributed and displayed publicity materials, masks, hand spray disinfectants, supported needy people for Covid treatment, conducted Covid Vaccination camps etc.,

 

Blood Donation:

We have formed Rotary South City Towers Lifeline, a voluntary blood donor forum which serves as a virtual blood bank. We have hundreds of registered voluntary donors. We have also conducted several blood donation camps and donated over 200 units of blood

 

End Polio :

All the past 8 years we have been creating awareness on Polio Erdication, Polio Vaccinations, supporting Poilo SNID Camps.

 

Community Service – Non Medical Major Projects executed till date are

Renovation of drinking water, toilets, hand wash in 4 Schools,

Donation of E learning kits, libraries to schools,

Adult Literacy programs to educate the uneducated

Sending street children back to school through Asha Kiran TEACH project,

 

Donation of clothes (new & old good quality), blankets, mosquito nets, etc., to the inmates of Sunderbans, and tribal settlements in W Midnapore district, Maheshthala, Madhapur every year.

Donations to various natural disasters like Uttarakhand, Nepal, Kerala, West Bengal etc.,

Running of an E cart, solar lamps,

 

Environmental Protection:

Tree Plantation including Miyawaki type of planning

 

TEACH – We regularly participate in the TEACH program since its inception in 2014.

Natural Disasters

We have contributed Rs.42000.00 towards Uttarakhand Rebuilding, specific to school furniture for 60 students in the year 2013.

 

As part of Senior Citizen, women & students welfare, we have purchased an battery operated E-Cart at a cost of Rs.1.0 lac and are operating for the past 9 years, it in our South City premises, which has 5 residential towers having 1692 flats in an area of over 21 acres and the last tower is almost 1 km away from the main road.

 

Vocational Service

Career Guidance seminars:

We have carried out various Career Guidance seminars to benefit the youth

Vocational Training:

We have trained youths in vocational training which includes tailoring, electrician, plumbing pharmacist and nursing through Apollo Med skills

Vocational Excellence Awards with certificates are given as ongoing project for the past 8 years to around 15 service staffs out of over 400 staffs of South City Residency every year. The categories include Best Security Male, Best Security Female, Best Electrician, Best Plumber, Best Fireman, Best House Keeping staff, Best Security Supervisor, Best House Keeping Supervisor, Best Admin Supervisor, Best Gardner, Best Gas service staff, etc.,

Vocational training and placement, vocational excellence awards.

Vocational Awareness Training, Seminars were conducted for energy conservation.

 

RCC - Established three Rotary Community Corps group in Maheshthala, Madhabpur and Keoratala and we are executing majority of the community and vocational service projects through them.

 

Youth Service

We have One Rotaract club, 2 Interact Clubs. We conduct regular leadership training programs for the Interactors and Rotaractors.

Donation of sanitary napkin vending machines in high schools,

 

International Service

We are a regular contributing club to The Rotary Foundation year on year. We have 9 PHF’s and 3 MPHF’s. We also regularly contribute to the Polio Fund, and we have 2 Paul Harris Fellow Society Members.

 

We have established a Rotary Club Trust in the name of “Calcutta South City Towers Rotary Trust”, with 15 charter trustees contributing each @ Rs.25000.00 each as fixed corpus fund. Trust if formed to take up and execute of major projects.

 

Appreciating our good work Rotary International and RI District 3291 bestow us with Citations, and awards year on year.
