Supporting Community Sports – South City Table Tennis Championship 2026

Rotary Club of Calcutta South City Towers enhanced its community visibility by supporting the South City Table Tennis Championship 2026, a tournament that attracted 53 participants across 10 categories and nearly 150 matches. The winners' trophies were sponsored through the generous contribution of Rtn. Ritesh Agarwal under the Rotary Club banner. The event was widely appreciated by residents and provided excellent exposure for Rotary among the South City community. This initiative strengthened Rotary's public image and showcased the club's commitment to encouraging community engagement, sportsmanship, and fellowship

ALP project - completion and certificate distribut

The Adult Literacy Program (ALP) of the Rotary Club of Calcutta South City Towers, running successfully for the past six years, The program focuses on educating women service staff and promoting basic literacy and empowerment. On the completion day, 8 participants were awarded certificates. The project has been dedicatedly managed by Rtn. Annapurna ji, whose consistent efforts have ensured its success year after year.

Madhabpur Vision Centre innugration

The Madhabpur Vision Centre is a joint initiative of Calcutta South City Towers Rotary Trust, Rotary Club of Calcutta South City Towers, and Madhabpur Vivekananda Sarvik Seva Kendra (MVSSK), established to provide affordable and accessible eye care to underprivileged villagers in and around Madhabpur. The centre has been set up with CSR support from M/s Jeco Agrovet Pvt. Ltd. and equipped with essential ophthalmic diagnostic instruments. MVSSK manages the day-to-day operations, while CSCTRT and RCCSCT monitor and supervise the project. The Vision Centre was successfully inaugurated on 18th January 2026 and stands as a milestone service project of the club aimed at long-term rural eye health.

Water purifier installation & innugration

The Rotary Club of Calcutta South City Towers inaugurated a water purification project at South City Residency, aimed at providing safe and clean drinking water to residents, visitors, and support staff. The facility was inaugurated by PRID Rtn. Aniruddha Roy Choudhary in the presence of SCAOA President Soutrik Bhattacharya, Club President Rtn. Aneesa Zainab, CSCTRT Trust Chairman Rtn. Ritesh Agarwal, along with Rotary members and community representatives. This project reflects Rotary?s commitment to promoting health, hygiene, and sustainable community welfare and was successfully implemented with the active support and cooperation of SCAOA.

Old clothes distribution

As part of our ongoing annual community service project, old clothes, toys, books, stationery, shoes, bags, and other essentials were collected from South City residents and brought to the RCC campus. These were distributed to underprivileged students and villagers of the Sundarban District. This initiative, conducted every year, continues to receive wholehearted support from the community and reflects the true spirit of Rotarys Service Above Self. This project taken care of by Rtn Suman kowala takes care of this project end to end .

Sanitary napkins distribution - 6 th September 25

On 6th September, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Towers conducted its monthly sanitary napkin distribution for the female service staff and domestic helps of South City Residency. The project, sponsored by Rtn. Suni Junjunwala and managed by Rtn. Dr. Suman Kowala, benefitted 350 women this month. Along with the napkins, adult literacy pamphlets were also distributed among the female domestic workers to spread awareness. This ongoing initiative reflects the Clubs strong commitment to womens health, dignity, and education as part of its community service efforts.

Free Eye Screening Camp for South City Service Sta

On 13th July 2025, the Rotary Club of Calcutta South City Towers, in collaboration with the South City Residents Association, organized a Free Eye Screening Camp at Tower 1 Community Hall. The camp was specially aimed at supporting the service staff of South City including maids, housekeeping personnel, drivers, security staff, and other daily support workers.A total of 277 individuals were screened, with 224 will be receiving spectacles free of cost and 15 diagnosed with cataract cases identified for free surgery by Rotary .The camp was inaugurated by AG Rtn. Tanu Roy . The camp was efficiently conducted by Rtn.Thakkar and his dedicated team, ensuring smooth flow and impactful service. This meaningful initiative reflects our clubs ongoing commitment to community welfare, with a focus on the health and dignity of those who serve us every day.The project was well-received and made a significant difference to the working community of South city.Lets continue to serve those who serve us
